A day that consisted largely of food, cocktails and relentless sunshine.
Met Edna for frappuccinos before wandering around the West End to photograph her in the sun, and find an archway I’d shot a self portrait beneath in my younger, uglier days. It deserved a better subject. We found it. I’m still churning out photos from that afternoon stroll.
We got the subway into town; met Cilla for shopping, then Kayleigh for a catchup Starbies before sauntering down to a food event at St Enoch Square that oor Cilla was reviewing. Dinner was tasty, and the free glass of wine put us in the mood for more, so we headed to Social for a few cocktails. The bounty martini will never not rock my world. Eventually, we managed to wrangle a seat outside and a bowl of olives. Followed shortly by the revelation that I now like olives. Sort’ve. A bit. Just a bit though.
I left the house at around 11am that morning, and got home around 11pm, so it was a pretty great twelve hours in the sunshine with friends.
My sweet, Glaswegian summer.
